The Paradox of Continuity features Adnan Marquez-Borbon on alto saxophone and electronics and explores the space between opposites - tension and release, motion and rest, order and disorder, complexity and simplicity, electronic and acoustic - and the transformation from one into the other.  This paradox – the paradox of the continuity between opposites - is also embodied in the use of the saxophone as the only sound source. The saxophone's sonic palette is the basis of dramatic sounds created through the use of extended techniques and digital signal processing, producing an end result that is an entirely new sound world for the intrument.  Each track on the album is both composed and improvised and relies on a balance between intellect and intuition. The album is anchored by a continuum between purely acoustic sounds and exclusively electronic ones.
